Steven Frieder (tenor sax) is graduate of The New School, has performed extensively, including at the Bern Festival in Switzerland (opening for McCoy Tyner) and numerous venues in the New York area, including Fat Cat, Highlights In Jazz, and the Peekskill Jazz Festival. His stylistic range is wide, from Clarence Clemons to John Coltrane, with influences of Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, and Sonny Rollins evident in his work. A young man, Steven has a long and bright future ahead as a musician.
Tim Ouimette (trumpet) is a veteran of the Ray Charles big band and has worked with Keith Richard, Delbert McClinton, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Mike Clark, Lenny White, Ray Barretto, Danny Aeillo, and hundreds of TV shows and jingles for all variety of media. Tim and Jon have worked extensively together, both in Jon’s groups and Tim’s “Little Big Band.”
Mike Eckroth (piano) has toured extensively with the John Scofield new quartet. Michael is also currently working on his PhD at NYU. Recent audio/DVD recordings include Mike Eckroth Group “Sombrío”. Michael has performed at the Jazz al Parque Festival in Colombia, the Havana international Jazz Festival in Cuba, the Savassi Jazz festival in Brazil, the Lagos Jazz series in Nigeria and the Jazz Improv Festival in NYC.
Jon Burr has toured with Horace Silver, Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Art Farmer, Stephane Grappelli, Tony Bennett, The Manhattan Jazz Quintet and many others. He’s active as a composer, arranger and producer, active in web design and development, and as a healthy cooking advocate.
